Let's be honest: Things are bad, and it is miserablew out there in the worldof commerce. We are in a globap recession that will last forsome time. 1. The economhy eventually will improve andget better. 2. Most companiezs rely on salespeople to help with the bottom Continuing sales of a product or service for an organization alonh with great salespeople will be neede d even more during these tough I think it is importan to look at a strategu as old as business itself that will help a its profitability, the salespeople employed and the customers that a company does business with. The first thing, whichn is of the utmost importance, are your customers.
Whetheer you are the CEO reading this, the salesperson or a personb in customerservice - this is the time to protect your customer base and make sure that they are satisfied, period ! The one way to do this is to get in toucu with your customers. Do not attempt to do this by mail or It istoo impersonal. If you want to buildr relationships withyour customers, then build them the way they are supposeed to be built - by people dealing directlh with people! You need to ask your customerd a simple and direct "How are we doing for you? Be honest, and tell me the Next, for the salespeople who still are you are going to have to work Yes, I said it - harder.
This meansw not only visiting your existing customerws and checking their true level of customer satisfactiob but also going out and gettintnew business. Sure, the economy is and we are not buying as much of anything as we did a fewyearsd ago, but the fact remains that there is still business being done out there.
