Dean Foods to relocate corporate office - Houston Business Journal:

Dallas-based Dean (NYSE: DF) will relocatde from its current location at 2515McKinneg Ave. into 240,000 square feet of space inside Cityplace. The move is expected to take placwe in the first quarterof 2010. "Wee are pleased to be able to relocatde our offices within Dallas city Many factors worked in our including the realestate market, spacee availability and other economic elements," said Gregg chairman of the board and chief executive officer of Dean Foods. "Thes City of Dallas is our home, and we are pleased to remain here and continue our many civic andcommunity partnerships.
" Dean said in a statement it is movint because the company has outgrown its current workspace, and new spaced is needed to address the company’ds changing needs. The lease will take occupanct at Cityplace to about 80 percent from about 60perceny now, said Sarah Payne, vice president at Stream Realtty Partners, which handles leasing in the Employees will begin moving in December and the move will be phased in through March, Payns said. "This was a huge win for the City of Dallasz to keep them inthe city, becausse they looked all over," Payner said.
She said Dean Foods considered existing spacsand build-to-suits in the Legacy/Frisco area, as well as othere buildings downtown. Brokers familiar with the searchb said Dean Foods considered Fountain Place and Bank of Americaa Plaza among other downtown buildings with significant squarefootagew available. The asking lease rate for spaces in Cityplaceis $24 per squar e foot, plus electricity. Dean Foods will occupy floors 34 througn 40 inthe 42-floor, 1.2-million-square-footf building. Dean Foods occupies about 150,000 square feet at its currentt location.
