EPA officials say this new infusion of moneh from the American Recovery and Reinvestmengt Act will help state and local governmente invest in a number of overdue waterr projects that officials say are essentiapl to protecting public health andthe environment. Starfield says. “These fundsa will not only help oureconomi recovery, but they will help provide clean drinking water for communities throughout Texas.
” The funds will be used toward the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund program, which provided low-interest loans for drinkinb water systems to finance infrastructurew improvements. The program places an emphasis on small and disadvantagee communities and to programs that encouragepollutioh prevention.
